Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply?

  • Call the HAGC office at (509) 762‑5541 to request an application by mail.

  • Visit our office to pick up an application in person.

  • Click on Apply Now! at the top of this page and fill out the form on the website to have an application mailed to you.  You can select which application you need: Low-Income Housing or Regular Rentals.

  • To learn more or apply for specific programs, you can also click the links for Low-Income Housing, Regular Rentals, or Housing Assistance on the Apply Now page.

How long is the waiting list?

Waiting times vary by property and program and can range from several months to multiple years. There is no guaranteed timeframe. Wait times can change due to factors beyond our control, such as unit availability, unit turnover, leasing schedules, program priorities, and transfers.

 

HAGC cannot predict future vacancies or the exact order in which applicants will be selected for housing assistance. For this reason, we do not provide specific waiting list positions or estimated dates for when assistance may become available.

 

When your name moves closer to selection and housing assistance may be available, we will contact you by mail. Please keep your contact information up to date with our office.

Where is the housing located?

Housing units are located throughout Grant County.

Ephrata, Grand Coulee, Moses Lake, Quincy, Royal City, Soap Lake, and Warden.

 

Units include duplexes and single‑family homes.

How much is the Security Deposit?

Security deposits vary by housing project but typically start at $150.

Are pets allowed?

Most housing projects allow pets. Pet deposits vary by project and typically start at $300.

Pets are not allowed on the property without the pet deposit paid in advance.

How do I report a lease violation or make a complaint?

You may report lease violations or complaints by calling the HAGC office and contacting the Housing Coordinator for your property. Reports can also be submitted in writing. All reports are kept anonymous.

How do I report a maintenance issue / make a work order?

  • Maintenance hours: Call 509‑762‑5541 or 800‑747‑9202 (Monday–Thursday, 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.).

  • After hours: Call Emergency Maintenance at 509‑765‑0611.

Does HAGC provide an interpreter?

Spanish‑speaking staff is available by phone and in the office. Interpreters for other languages are available upon request.

Is emergency housing available?

HAGC offers assistance for families or individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Contact our office to schedule an appointment with a coordinator. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday during regular business hours. You can also print a Homeless Assistance application by clicking Apply Now! at the top of this page, scrolling to Housing Assistance, and clicking the link there.
